I may earn commission from the companies mentioned in this post at no extra cost to you. I only recommend products that I have tried and love.
Do you know what an affiliate is? If you are anything like me you have probably been on Pinterest for ages. I have never thought of Pinterest as a way to make money. I have been using the boards for years every time I need to plan something. You can see my journey if you look at my boards. The nursery decor for when I had my first kid 5 years ago, the time I tried keto to lose the baby weight, things to do with the baby, things to feed the baby, and then every birthday up until the one I am currently planning. Pinterest has been with me on my journey and it looks kind of like a diary.
Do people make money on Pinterest? Wait, what?
One day I was scrolling through the home board, looking for mermaid and pirate birthday party ideas, when suddenly something caught my eye. “How I made my first affiliate sale on Pinterest in 24 hours”. Interesting. So I opened it and read this girl’s account of how she used this e-book to make a sale on Pinterest and how it actually worked. I have always seen the “affiliate disclosure” post on pages, but I never really paid attention to this. Then I realized just about every blog post that I have read, had some affiliate link somewhere, and all these people are actually making money! (Maybe I’m just slow hahaha).
What I have learned so far about affiliate marketing
There is a lot of resources out there to help you become an affiliate, I won’t lie. All you need to do is search on Pinterest for “affiliate marketer” and you will see hundreds of posts about the topic. I opened a few links and learned the basics of how to apply to affiliate networks. The only problem is that there are so many different views on the best way to go about becoming an affiliate and being successful with it, that it can become really confusing.
Then I came across Elise from House of Brazen. I really enjoyed the way she explained affiliate marketing. She explains it in a very simple, no b-s and easy to follow manner. I read some reviews about her e-book and was impressed that most people seemed to be really successful with it. Having never paid for any course on Pinterest, I had a good feeling about this course. So I decided to go ahead and bite the bullet. I downloaded this e-book (actually e-course, as it contains much more than just a book).
The course material is really rich and is a step-by-step guide on how to make your first affiliate sale within 24 hours on Pinterest. It includes great content. How to use some very handy tools such as Tailwind, which pins for you while you sleep (or eat, or whatever). By automating your pinning you get ahead very quickly. There are very handy tutorials on how to use all of these tools which are a sure fire way to save a lot of time. She also includes a list of affiliate networks that cover, I would guess, just about every niche.
Even if I don’t make my first dale within 24 hours, I have learned some really cool stuff that will come in handy in future. The course has definitely helped me on my blogging journey.
Good support and feedback
Sure you can probably learn all of these things on your own. It will just take a lot of time and patience. Elise offers awesome support. Although we are in completely different time zones, she answered any questions I had very quickly. And made my dumb questions seem not-so-dumb.
I am implementing all of her steps in setting up my own affiliate posts and will post my results in days to come. I knew nothing about all of this techy stuff and I managed to follow most of her steps fairly easily without any pulling hair out of my head moments.
In conclusion, would I recommend this course? Absolutely. I feel like I learned many new things and I have implemented most of them on my blog already. Elise is also super nice and helpful. If you are planning on investing in your blog and monetizing it in an easy to apply method, this course is for you. For me, it is worth the investment just for the tips and tricks that I have learned.
