We all want healthy living for our families. We want our kids to eat nutritious food that helps them grow up into healthy adults with no food issues. But why is it so hard at the moment? Is it because we are bombarded with advertising of unhealthy, sugary, processed foods? Or is it because 9 out of 10 times, it is more convenient to give them prepackaged, ready to eat stuff (let’s face it, we don’t always know what is in the stuff that we are feeding our kids). I think it’s a combination of many different things. We all need a little help sometimes, especially with healthy living. There are tons of resources all over the net, but it can be damn confusing. How do you know what is right for you? This bundle will make it all so easy. Like really simple, informative and straight to the point.
Make sure whatever you choose to implement will work for your family. We all agree cutting sugar is a great start, and that is something easy to implement (if nobody is too addicted to sugar). Next step might be to reduce gluten and processed meats. But again, if you are working full time with a family to feed, you need to do things that are practically possible. If you don’t have hours to cook, you need to plan properly in order to make sure you feed those people! Otherwise, they will just go back to eating junk again. Keep fresh food readily available. If you are going gluten-free, make sure you remove all temptations. If you simply want them to eat more whole foods, keep processed foods to a minimum.
Getting more active, what would work for you?
Again, you don’t want to set a goal that is not easily attainable in the beginning. How do you get your family more active? Do you buy a bunch of mountain bikes and then hopefully you will all find the time to go and ride it? Or do you have small kids without a great support structure and simply battle to find the time? Baby steps, darling. Go walk the dog every evening. Kids follow our examples, so if you start doing yoga in the morning twice a week, chances are they will be interested to do it with you. Being active does not have to be going to the gym, small lifestyle changes can make a huge difference. Sustainability is key.
